Masquerade is the  immersive NYC production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera,” directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus.

 

Jessie collaborated with production designer James Fluhr to recreate the Paris opera house inside a multi storied building on West 57th Street, previously housing Lee’s art store. Jessie felt the beauty of making this show immersive was expanding a world the audience already knows and love so well and creating rich new spaces for them to experience from the phantom’s perspective. They started with a mountain of research into Paris in the 1880’s, and countless hours were spent dreaming up this dark, rich, atmosphere to house the phantom's opulent interiors and creating an aesthetic that reflected his personality.
